At Aero Design, we’re passionate about helping mission-driven organizations build digital platforms that deliver real value to their communities. When the California Park & Recreation Society (CPRS) approached us to modernize their job board, we saw an opportunity to create something much more than a listing page. The result is the CPRS Job Center (jobcenter.cprs.org), a polished, user-friendly hub that connects parks and recreation professionals with employers across California.

Challenge

CPRS needed a job center that could do two things exceptionally well:

  • Provide job seekers with an easy way to browse, filter, and discover opportunities in their field (Find a Job).

  • Give employers a clear and efficient process to post positions, with transparent pricing and seamless payment options (Place a Job).

The previous system was functional but lacked the intuitive design, automation, and branding consistency that CPRS wanted to offer its community. Our challenge was to design a solution that was not only efficient, but also aligned with CPRS’s mission and professional identity.

Our approach

We worked hand-in-hand with CPRS to design a digital experience that made both sides of the job market—job seekers and employers—feel supported:

  • For Job Seekers
    We built a robust Find a Job page that allows users to filter listings by classification, location, salary, and closing dates. Clear navigation and pagination ensure that professionals can quickly find relevant opportunities without frustration.

  • For Employers
    We designed a transparent, step-by-step job posting process. Employers can now place job ads with clear pricing options ($75 for 30 days, $125 for 60 days) and predictable activation timelines.

  • For CPRS Staff
    Behind the scenes, we integrated workflows to handle approvals, payments, and scheduling automatically—reducing the administrative burden and ensuring consistency.

  • For the CPRS Brand
    We ensured that the Job Center reflects CPRS’s professionalism and accessibility, seamlessly aligning with their broader digital presence.

The new CPRS Job Center has quickly become a trusted career hub for parks and recreation professionals across California:
